DAVID PATRICIAN
Since 2012, David has lived in Hamburg and has continued working as a freelance journalist for German media, including Delta Radio, ARD (Buten un Binnen), N-TV, the Hamburger Abendblatt and RTL Nord. He also moderates a variety of political, economic and cultural events, both in English and in German.
David Patrician grew up in Rockville, Maryland, located just a few minutes outside of Washington, DC. He was a member of the marching band (playing the clarinet and saxophone) in high school, where he was also on the debate team and began learning German. This led to a semester exchange in Pinneberg, Germany (Rockville’s Sister City), where he gained a passion for traveling and working in foreign countries. While in South Korea, he continued his studies with a Master’s Degree in International Law from Sogang University in Seoul. This program also included studying at Georgetown University (Washington, DC) at the School of Foreign Service. He returned to Washington and worked for the Voice of America in both the English and Korean Language Service.
