Charlie Campbell is a senior correspondent at TIME, based in the Singapore bureau. He covers business, tech, and geopolitics across Asia. He was previously China Bureau Chief. Since joining TIME, Charlie has reported from more than 20 countries and interviewed several Asian world leaders, including Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte, South Korean President Moon Jae-in, Thai Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-Ocha and Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan. Charlie has also reported extensively on North Korea, Myanmar’s democratic transition and global trade and technology with a Chinese perspective. Most recently, he reported and wrote TIME Cover stories on the Christchurch Mosque Shootings, the COVID19 pandemic and an exclusive interview with the Dalai Lama.
