Mr. Simons is an Associate Professor based at Turiba University in Riga, Latvia. I give guest lectures and deliver special courses on topics such as Russian mass media; terrorism; public diplomacy; the relationship between politics, information and armed conflict; and crisis management. At the Department of Peace and Conflict Research at Uppsala University he designed and taught an undergraduate course in English on Mass Media and Contemporary Armed Conflict. Currently he teachs at the doctoral level at Turiba University on topics such as risk and crisis communication.
