SYEEDA MEER
Ms. Meer has nearly 12 years of experience in renewable energy project financing and competitive procurement of renewable energy. Her professional experience includes project appraisal, due diligence, financial modeling, risk mitigation, project management, capacity development, and training. As the Director of Energy Procurement and Project Finance, she is responsible for directing project activities related to best value transparent renewable energy procurement by the public and private sector, such as renewable energy auctions and corporate power procurement, and increasing private sector investment in renewable energy by ensuring access to various funds and financial instruments by local financial institutions and the private sector. Earlier in her career, she has been engaged in the financing of over 160 renewable energy projects, including solar irrigation pumps, solar mini-grids, bio-gas-based electricity generation plants, rooftop solar projects, and utility-scale solar projects. During her professional journey, Ms. Meer has worked with various development agencies, government institutions, and end-level consumers in the country. She has participated in training and capacity-building workshops for energy sector stakeholders and foreign delegates from Myanmar, Afghanistan, and Rwanda. Ms. Meer holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and a Master of Business Administration degree with a Major in Finance from the Department of Finance and Institute of Business Administration, University of Dhaka, respectively.
