HUMA KHAN
Currently working as the Senior Women Protection Advisor for United Nations Mission in South Sudan, I primarily concentrate on engagement with various parties to conflict perpetrating sexual violence in conflict to work towards behavioural change from within and to strengthen accountability at national and international level. I work closely with four parties to the conflict at various levels, from ground level troops to the leadership of government forces and different non- state actors. Additionally I am responsible for developing remedial action and ensue adequate response for survivors with a survivor centred approach. I have worked with national, international organizations, UN agencies to make sure resources are in place for swift responses through developing various early warning and coordination mechanisms. I am responsible for designing innovative projects and raising resources for their implementation. As an advisor to Special Representative of Secretary General for South Sudan, I shape strategies and interventions on behalf of the mission on sexual violence in conflict.
