Monzima Haque is an Assistant Professor in the Department of International Relations at the University of Dhaka and a doctoral candidate at the School of International Service (SIS), American University, Washington, D.C. Her research centers on global environmental politics, resource governance, and hydro-politics, with a focus on transboundary water challenges in South and Southeast Asia. Monzima also serves as the Transboundary Advisor for South Asian Young Women in Water (SAYWiW), a regional platform dedicated to connecting and empowering young women professionals in the water sector across South Asia. Monzima earned her BSS and MSS in International Relations from the University of Dhaka and an M.A. in International Affairs and Development from the Elliott School at George Washington University, where she was awarded the prestigious Fulbright Foreign Student Scholarship (2015–2017) and the United Nations Association Graduate Fellowship (2017). Monzima has previously worked with multiple think tanks, held faculty positions in Bangladesh and abroad, and brings extensive experience bridging academia and policymaking.
