Asif Nazrul is the adviser of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment, Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs of the Interim Government of Bangladesh. He is also a Bangladeshi writer, novelist, political analyst, constitutional expert and columnist. By profession, he is a professor in the law department of Dhaka University. Before joining Dhaka University as a teacher, Asif worked in Bichitra, a widely circulated weekly newspaper in 1991. He worked for some time as a Government Officer (Magistrate) in the Government of Bangladesh. He is often seen in various national and international media like BBC, CNN and Al Jazeera etc. He worked as a Consultant to European Union Delegation in Bangladesh, UNDP, ADB, DANIDA, SIDA, CARE, TIB and other organizations on issues of good governance, access to justice, rule of law, environmental issues and human rights.
