Ambassador Mustafa Osman Turan joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of
Türkiye in 1992 following his studies in international relations at the Middle East Technical University in Ankara. He completed his Master’s degree on European politics in 1996 at the College of Europe in Bruges, Belgium.
Throughout his career, he worked at the Ministry’s departments on the Middle East, NATO and Euro-Atlantic Security and Defence Affairs, Arms Control and Disarmament and Multilateral Economic Affairs.
As his assignments abroad, Ambassador Turan worked in Italy, Albania, North Macedonia, Kosovo, Austria, Afghanistan and Belgium.
Before being appointed as the Ambassador to Bangladesh as of 15 January 2020, he was based in Ankara as Deputy Director General for Multilateral Economic Affairs.
Ambassador Turan was born in 1969 in Izmit, Türkiye and speaks English fluently. He has a 16 years old son.
