Sreeradha Datta is Centre Head, Neighbourhood Studies and Senior Fellow, Vivekanda International Foundation, New Delhi. Besides being former director, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Institute of Asian Studies, Kolkata, she has been a Fellow with Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses, New Delhi till 2011. Specializing in South Asian and South East Asian studies she has a PhD from Jawaharlal Nehru University. Her publications include six books and monographs, namely, Caretaking Democracy: Political Process in Bangladesh, 2006-08, Bangladesh: A Fragile Democracy, The Northeast Complexities and its Determinants, including co- edited volumes on Changing Security Dynamics in South East Asia, Political Economy of India's North East Borders and two monographs; The Changing Narrative: India's Borders with Bangladesh and Myanmar; etc.
These apart, she has published over 100 articles in journals, edited volumes, newspapers, and academic websites. Two of her manuscripts, one on Act East policy and the other on Bangladesh's journey of 50 years will be published soon. She continues to serve on the academic boards of several Universities and think tanks and is a regular participant in track 2 dialogues with Bangladesh, Myanmar, Nepal and China. Amongst other distinctions she has been awarded several fellowships nationally and internationally.
