Dr Vijay Sakhuja is former Director, National Maritime Foundation, New Delhi, India. He is currently Distinguished Fellow, Centre for Public Policy Research (CPPR) Kochi; Consultant, Indian Council of World Affairs, New Delhi; Consultant, Vivekananda International Foundation, New Delhi; Co-founder and Trustee of The Peninsula Foundation (TPF) Chennai; and is associated with Kalinga International Foundation, New Delhi. He has been on the faculty of a number of think tanks and universities in India and abroad - RSIS, Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore; Institute of Southeast Asian Studies (ISEAS), Singapore; Gujarat National Law University, India; Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA); Centre for Airpower Studies (CAPS); Observer Research Foundation (ORF); Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses (IDSA), and United Service Institution of India (USI).
Sakhuja received MPhil and PhD degrees from the Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi. He specializes in Bay of Bengal issues, Indo-Pacific affairs, maritime security, climate change, Arctic development, Blue Economy and 4th Industrial Revolution technologies. He has published over 40 books, edited volumes and monographs. Dr Vijay Sakhuja is member of the international editorial board of Journal of Indian Ocean Region (Taylor & Francis) and Journal of Greater Mekong Studies.
