Shah Ali Farhad

Barrister Shah Ali Farhad is a young politician, researcher and lawyer from Bangladesh. He is currently working as a senior political associate at the Dhaka-based think-tank, the Centre for Research and Information (CRI) 

Barrister Farhad has previously served as a special assistant to the Bangladesh Prime Minister. He is a member of Bangladesh Awami League's international affairs sub committee. Previously, he served as a member of the party's publicity and publications sub committee as well as the 2018 manifesto drafting committee. He is an elected member of the executive committee of the Singapore-based Asian Democratic Leaders' Alliance (ADLA). 

Farhad was a fellow of the German political foundation,  Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, where he received specialised training on political management. He has also received training on public opinion research from the Washington-based Democracy International, and on advanced communications from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore (NUS). 

A lawyer by training, Farhad is an advocate of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh and a barrister of the Lincoln's Inn, UK. Recently, Farhad studied for, and received, the Master of Public Policy (MPP) degree from the Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford.

Farhad is passionate about, among others, gender justice, climate justice, rights of religious minorities, youth participation and representation in politics, digital governance and rights, diplomacy and international relations, and national security.
