Faris is a business development and government relations professional at the cusp of public private partnership initiatives with experience in the international corporate sector as well as an extensive career in the international intergovernmental sector, with such organizations as the United Nations and the European Union, holding such positions as the Head of the United Nations Population Fund office in Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as being a Project Manager for the European Union directing EU funds for capacity building and development purposes, and previously the Business Reform Officer for the Office of the High Representative.
He has also lectured at universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Austria, Slovakia, and Kosovo on topics related to international relations, regional integrations, international security mechanisms, and multilateralism.
He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations and Economics from the American University in Cairo as well as a Master’s Degree from the University of Bologna in Governance and Politics of European Integrations.
He was born in Libya, educated in Egypt and Italy, and lived for longer or shorter periods of time in Libya, Egypt, Iran, Hungary, and Italy. He enjoys traveling, exploring, meeting people and getting to know cultures.
